Australia Awards alumna Kritzia Santos is leading 2KK Tulong sa Kapwa Kapatid Foundation’s fundraising initiatives in collaboration with different digital platforms such as Lazada, Shopee, Booky, and PayMongo. Through this innovation, people can just click a few buttons to support frontliners and daily wage workers with donation plans such as cash donation from P50 to P5,000, or meals to frontliners, meals to people in communities most in need, and food packs to daily wage earners and their families. As of 11 April 2020, the foundation has raised P1,728,399.

Story Bites - Covid Donate

The spirit of pagiging kapwa kapatid continues to motivate and inspire me. It has been one month since our initiatives for Covid19 has started, but the spirit of volunteerism and helping one’s kapwa is so evident in our volunteers, donors, community leaders, and YAPAK leaders (scholars). Seeking to always reach those most in need and those who have not received is always our goal. Because we cannot leave our homes, our frontliners have been the community mothers and our YAPAK leaders (scholars) themselves. They have always been willing to serve: from repacking goods, to distributing to families, to cooking for the most in need. The heart of the Filipino truly shines in these occasions.

We were able to reach many hearts and hands through our partners, donors and volunteers – the spirit of being a Filipino is really something special. Through our Lazada partnership – and the help of volunteers who did LazLives (they volunteered to teach how to dance, exercise, and cook online to raise funds) – we were able to reach one million pesos for our initiatives in distributing food packs to daily wage earners, poorest of the poor, senior citizens and frontliners, and in distributing PPE. More than 1,500 donors contributed to this.

I have also been touched by our Kapatid Kid since kindergarten, Lesther Pangilinan who is now the SK chairman in Payatas Quezon City. He is making a mark as a humble public servant who is always reaching out to the poorest of the poor. We are continuous partners in ensuring we share the love and spread the blessings to those most in need as kapatids.
