What makes Australia a good place for postgraduate education?
Australia is an excellent destination for postgraduate education because of its cultural diversity and respect for Indigenous Peoples. As a member of an indigenous community, I value studying in a country that honours my heritage. Australia is home to some of the best universities globally, known for their world-class reputation. The country provides a welcoming environment for international students and offers exceptional support, especially during challenging times like the pandemic.
As a Filipino scholar, what are you most proud of?
As a Filipino scholar, I'm most proud of being a member of the Obo Monuvu indigenous community and landing the most prestigious scholarship out there. It made my mom and siblings beam with pride—though they might just be relieved that they’re not paying for my own education! Plus, I’m getting my master’s in a country with top-notch education and world-class professors.

Now that you're back, how are you making a difference in your field/community?
Now that I’m back, I believe I am making a difference. I’m using the leadership skills I’ve learned as a lawyer for the indigenous peoples. Meeting experts from different countries allows me to consult with them to provide better service to my community. We exchange advice to replicate the best practices and ensure we all benefit from our collective knowledge.
