My Australia Awards Story: Equipped to Make A Difference

What are your most memorable experiences living and studying in Australia?

One of my most memorable experiences living and studying in Australia was seeing the Sydney Opera House – not as a tourist, but as an Australia Awards Scholar. I felt an overwhelming feeling of gratitude when I saw Australia's iconic landmark.
What makes Australia a good place for postgraduate education?

Australia is one of the global leaders in education, with such high standards that graduates from Australian Universities are well-prepared and equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to make a significant difference in their chosen fields of expertise. In addition, the clean and healthy environment is very conducive for learning. Being a country that is very welcoming to a plethora of cultures is another advantage since students are exposed to a wide gamut of lived and shared experiences, broadening their horizons.
As Filipino scholar, what are you most proud of?

As a Filipino scholar, I am most proud of representing my country in the global stage. I am honoured to be able to show other nationalities that we Filipinos are highly skilled, multi-talented, very capable of holding our own in a highly competitive environment, and shine brightly in our chosen fields.

Empowered by your Australian education, how do you plan to make a difference in your field, community, or organisation in the Philippines?

With the world-class Australian Education that I received, I plan to apply what I've learned to assess and evaluate our agency's cybersecurity position and develop comprehensive cybersecurity policies that will ensure the protection and safe utilisation of our IT infrastructure as well as all of the systems that are being used to deliver quality public service with excellence and integrity.
