In-Country Scholarship Program for Forensic Medicine
The Australian Government, in collaboration with Monash University Department of Forensic Medicine, and the University of the Philippines Manila College of Medicine, is pleased to offer the first In-Country Scholarship Program (ICSP) for Master of Forensic Medicine. The scholarship offers a 2-year Master of Forensic Medicine (Hybrid Educational Setup) for Filipino health professionals. Coursework for successful applicants will begin in February 2026.
About the course
Gain medical, dental and scientific knowledge and skills from Australia’s best forensic practitioners and develop specialised and highly sought-after expertise with the Master of Forensic Medicine. This internationally recognised course follows Monash University’s curriculum. Experts from Monash University will deliver in-person lectures (and lab) at the University of the Philippines – Manila and online.
In the Master of Forensic Medicine, you will:
- learn to make high level, independent judgements in the forensic setting
- understand medicolegal principles and practice communicating such issues within the justice system
- critically evaluate the ethical and legal issues arising in forensic medical practice, and
- gather and interpret forensic evidence in a variety of forensic medical and scientific specialisations
- Gain experience and knowledge in practical forensic case work for both deceased and living victims of violence

Eligibility Requirements
Applications are strongly encouraged from ALL eligible health professionals from the Philippines (regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or disability) who meet the program’s eligibility criteria:

Must be a Filipino citizen.

Must hold a degree in medicine, dentistry, or a related health science field.

Must have at least 3 years of cumulative professional work experience.
4
Must be in a position where skills can effectively contribute to positive change in the Philippines.
5
Must not be a current beneficiary of any scholarships or other educational assistance programs at the time of application or during the duration of the scholarship.

Must meet the program entry requirements of Monash University.

Fill out the online scholarships application form.
After receiving the link to the application form, fill it out with your personal information, educational background, and professional experience. Additionally, you must also include the following in your application:
- Certificate of General Weighted Average (GWA) in your degree in Medicine
